Pogo - "Alice"

Pogo is an electronic music ARTIST living in Perth, Western Australia (thank you Internet!). I want to stress the artist part because what he does is sheer musical genius. He takes sounds, chords and phrases from Disney movies and turns them into songs.

This is from Alice in Wonderland:

Of course, it's more of a lawsuit than Girl Talk's albums. And he details his legal struggles with the Disney juggernaut on his website.

Pogo - "Wishery"

"This is my track Wishery, comprising vocal syllables, musical chords and sound effects recorded from the 1937 Disney classic Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs. Enjoy!"

wow. this is art. making a song out of Snow White is epic; making it sound simple and effortless makes it worth sharing.

Feist - "I Feel It All" (Diplo Remix)

i love it when someone takes a song and turns it into something you never couldve imagined coming from the original. it's like baking cookies and coming out with cake-- both delicious, but the latter is just soooo good.

take Diplo's remix of Feist's "I Feel It All:"

he turns the bouncy track into a head bobbing thumper.

SIDENOTE:
is it just me or is everyone remixing/covering Feist? or actually, it's more like Feist just makes such great music that it's remixing/covering potential is endless.

The Irrepressibles - "In This Shirt"

i came across this video on a friend's facebook wall; i've never heard of them, but am glad i found them.

They're called The Irrepressibles and wiki tells me they're a 10 piece orchestra band from London, UK, which is where the depth of the sound comes from. it reminds me of Cinematic Orchestra, another powerful instrumental collective.

Aside from that, this is one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. right from the first second, everything just feels perfect. the positioning, the lighting, the mystery-- it's beautifully crafted and shot. the feelings you get from the video are strong and powerful too, whether or not the context is clear. it's undeniably captivating.

the imagery, design and editing is truly masterful, in my opinion.

Robyn - "Time Machine"

NEW ROBYN!

Perez says she's "saved the best for last" and i kinda agree with him. this new song is off the final chapter of her epic triptych album "Body Talk."

James Blake - "Limit to your Love"

beautiful, demure cover of Feist's "Limit to your Love" by James Blake, whom the Internet tells me is an "up-and-comer."

that bass makes my heart shake, it feels like hands are reaching through my ribcage.

SIDENOTE:
i also cant get over how cool the video is. it's slowness, the dark tones, the floating fruit, the surf under the table. wonderful direction.

Coeur de Pirate - "Etienne d'aout" (Live)
