Sleigh Bells - "Rill Rill"

Alexis Krauss is the biggest, baddest, bitchin badass out there. Fact.

Newly released video for Sleigh Bell's Rill Rill:

This video is beyond epic. Rill Rill is one of the standout songs from their debut album and this video goes so well with the laidback thumping rythym of the song and the overall 'does it look like i give a fuck?' attitude of the band.

i'm not gonna lie, there were at least three separate times i screamed "AHHH!" out loud in excitement/shock while watching this video for the first time:

1) when she pushes him out of the car lol
2) when she throws the guitar out of the car
3) when she makes the knife pop

honourable mention goes to: the bloody phone.

and to think that Alexis Krauss used to be a primary school teacher makes this video that much better :D

girl walk // all day

Officially my new favourite thing:

Ahoy!

We've set out to combine the amazing talents of improvisational dancer Anne Marsen (and a supporting cast of contemporary dancers) with the epic new Girl Talk album, All Day, creating an album-length music video of grand proportions. We'll continue shooting through the spring of 2011, then plan to screen the piece, in full, in public, as well as make it fully available for free online.

That girl has so much courage- i love it! And what a great idea to make an improvised dance video for Girl Talk's album. And to name it Girl Walk. File under: Brillz

File under: reason to move to Brooklyn #635.

The Irrepressibles - "In This Shirt"

i came across this video on a friend's facebook wall; i've never heard of them, but am glad i found them.

They're called The Irrepressibles and wiki tells me they're a 10 piece orchestra band from London, UK, which is where the depth of the sound comes from. it reminds me of Cinematic Orchestra, another powerful instrumental collective.

Aside from that, this is one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. right from the first second, everything just feels perfect. the positioning, the lighting, the mystery-- it's beautifully crafted and shot. the feelings you get from the video are strong and powerful too, whether or not the context is clear. it's undeniably captivating.

the imagery, design and editing is truly masterful, in my opinion.

James Blake - "Limit to your Love"

beautiful, demure cover of Feist's "Limit to your Love" by James Blake, whom the Internet tells me is an "up-and-comer."

that bass makes my heart shake, it feels like hands are reaching through my ribcage.

SIDENOTE:
i also cant get over how cool the video is. it's slowness, the dark tones, the floating fruit, the surf under the table. wonderful direction.

this is a really great music video. not familiar with the band, but i'm always really impressed by people who do stop motion videos involving chalk.

Crystal Castles - "Baptism" official video

Alice Glass is the sexiest thing out there.

Ellie Goulding & Erik Hassle - Be Mine [Robyn Acoustic]

the most beautiful song.

i cant stop listening to it.

Ellie Goulding's voice is golden, but i think Erik Hassle is stronger emotionally.

they add more to the original song, which can stand on it's own:

cutest black kid ever!

Katy Perry - "Teenage Dream"

so you've probably heard Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" somewhere: on the radio, on the internet, on your ipod.

Check out the steamy music video: HOT!

(fuckers disabled embedding, those fuckers.)

Here's the "lyric" version. Not the same. But anyway, you get the point.

Dear Katy Perry, please feature shirtless, highly vascularized, hot male models punching bags in all your videos, please? kthanksbi.

No, but seriously, that is a hot video. Especially when his veins are popping out of his biceps. I love how she looks like she cares about something other than his chiselled jaw.

what are you selling Katy? I'm confused.

plus, your "outfit" doesnt even look comfortable.

back on track, here are the current remixes:

N'Joy & Emily Remix = very good, definitely adds to the original track.

Temabes Remix = fucking sucks.

DJ Megaman & Panic City Remix = clubby.

oh, i love art that reminds me of porn. you're such an artist, Katy.

Deadmau5 - asdfghjkl

this is officially my favourite Deadmau5 song.

Cee-Lo - “Fuck You”

yes, and yes.

dont know who 'Cee-Lo' is? Sounds like an artificial sweetner, which is funny because this track is very saccharine. (sometimes i even amaze myself with my amaze-puns.)

enn-eee-way, i've never heard of this guy, but this video is fun. Fun fact: typography makes everything fun. and i like the song.

Whenever a video gets to a million views on YouTube before i've seen it, my heart drops a little and i can hear the sound of my internet cred slipping.

Hey Ocean! - Too Soon

Cool video my cousin sent me.

Chiddy Bang - Dream Chasin'

Chiddy Bang is the perfect mix of rap and pop, like a crossword and a playground.

Tokyo Police Club - "Wait Up (Boots of Danger)"

i like this video. it's cute... because of the dogs.

Tenderoni videodrop

Kele, the frontguy from Bloc Party, is venturing off by himself and this is the first single et. video from his upcoming album:

The first thing that popped into my head was.. okay no, the actual first thing was, "omg he's RIPPED!" but the legit second thing that popped into my head was "is this for the upcoming TRON movie?" I mean those costumes look like they belong in the trailer.

The third thing that popped into my head was "what the fuck is a tenderoni?"

But all jokes aside, I'm actually diggin this. The synth. The beat. The nakedness. I dontknow, it feels very slick and intelligent. Kele Okereke (sp?) is an intelligent guy, so it makes sense that his 'solo scene' would be sleek and attractive.

He's not in the business of half-assedness; after all, Bloc Party's debut album reached #3 in the UK and propelled the band to fame. It takes guts to make a big debut.

I'm considering this Kele Okereke's official 'coming out' and I'm excited for the rest of the songs off his album, AND the fact that he's playing Osheaga in Montreal in August. Hot damn tenderoni! mmh

Uffie feat. Pharell Williams - ADD SUV videodrop

The official video for the lead single off Uffie's debut album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans dropped and man is it coolbeans:

It's hard to believe this is Uffie's first album, after being a mainstay of underground electro music for years. Chances are youve heard of her, heard a song by her, or been sent a link to 'Pop the Glock' or 'Tthhee Ppaarrttyy' from a musically-inclined friend you trust.

She's a an example of someone who's music and lifestyle attract their own kind of attention. She moved to Paris when she was 18; born in Florida, grew up in Hong Kong. Scanning her wikipedia page leaves more questions than answers. And she's only 22. And she has a kid.

It all begs the question, who is this Uffie chick?

Her success only adds to her mystique. I mean who wouldn't want to be her, or at least be her for a day. Every google-able picture of Uffie is like a piece to a never-ending puzzle. This aint your Grandma's jigsaw.
